Lester, was invited to a friend's home for dinner, where he noticed that his buddy Rod, preceded every request to his wife with endearing terms, calling her Honey, Darling, Sweetheart, Pumpkin, etc.

He was impressed at this, since the couple had been married for a long time.

While the wife was in the kitchen, he said, "I think it's wonderful that after all the years, you still call your wife those pet names."

His buddy Rod, hung his head. "To tell you the truth, I forgot her name about 10 years ago."

Here is what I do. Now, I am not saying it is right or wrong, but it does work for me.

I have always called my wife by other women's names, then I make a joke out of it like I meant to do it. And truthfully, I did; however, if I do "accidently" call her by the wrong name, I am covered!

I called my very possible, more than likely future girlfriend the wrong name a couple weeks ago. Luckily, I don't think she caught it, as her name is Alaina, and I accidentally said Yelena, and I have never been the worlds best, in terms of annunciation. Then, she put me in the doghouse on Friday. I think I musta said something wrong, as I got "that was definitely NOT the right answer."

Name tags would work
Knowing me, I would mispronounce it, while reading it. ;)

Wonder if I am out of the doghouse Monday, or if I will get chained up again for something else.
