Smart Tabs for Lund Boat

Hey all! I just want to make sure I am ordering the right part (sucks to return something from the States, I live in Canada); I'm actually searching for my dad, who doesn't do computers & stuff =)
He's recently bought a 2006 18.5' Lund fishing boat with a 4.3L Mercruiser EFI... and it's a little sluggish coming out of the hole. I hear everyone saying try the smart tabs, ok cool, looks like it will work!
So I look them up, there are 3 options...

Plastic looking smart tabs
Metal, non-angled
Metal, angled

Sorry for being so new to this, I just don't know which one is right
