I winterized my motor, 2002 125 clasic, last week and can't experiment. I always have some problem starting it when cold. The manual just says push in on the key to choke - dosn't say hold or push multiple times etc. Does this motor inject fuel each time when pressed or add extra fuel all the time when the key is held in? Being old I am always afraid of flooding an engine with too much choke. If I knew how it chokes then I would know how to start it better.

the choke just closes the butterfly in the carb throat...it does nothing but control the air/fuel mix ratio...you control the amount of fuel with the warm up lever/button on the control box...you push and hold the key in to choke

Actually your engine don't have a choke it's a primer, after pumping the bulb up hard advance the throttle slightly, push the primer and hold it till the engine fires up

Pro, On my '93 135V6, the primer allows fuel from the top carb to pour into the air intake of the mid and bottom carb. When I am cold starting, I push the choke (actually primer) button and hold it a couple of sec. The motor usually roars to life, with a crank or two. if I was to hold the choke in and crank, the motor might flood.
