Simple question(maybe)

I bought a new pontoon boat that does not have a motor. It had a 06 Merc 115 4stroke when built. It has Merc. control box and ignition, diff brand of gauges. The wiring harness and steering is still there. If I buy a Honda or Yamaha 4stroke what do i need to change for everything to work?

I believe you would half to change the controls box and all if you put a different brand motor.
Why not go back with a Merc? The gauges you shouldn't half to worry about. The steering cable may be alright, I have'nt studied up on that one.

I was wanting a 150 4stroke and merc doesnt have this, except verado
