I have a Phantom Bantam Trolling motor I purchased when I was a kid at an auction for $2
It's mostly chrome with aluminum hardware. It has a toggleswitch for high-off-low.
A plate on top of the egg shaped but flat top control/handle reads:
Phantom Products, Inc. Kansas City, MO.
"Run only when submerged" Model M-2
6or12 volt electric fishing motor
Serial Number 83851
It has a two blade aluminum prop that is only about 4" diameter.
A red rubber handle that reads Hunt Wilde Corporation
A red cord with alligator clips that are labled Mueller Electric Co. Cleve. O. No. 46-A copper plated.
It's suprisingly compact(small) and hasn't been used in years, but I remember it pushing our 12' flat bottomed-V with three guys and all the gear. We would troll around with it all day, using it as an outboard and it was much faster than rowing.
If I had to guess, I'd say it was 1950's
Does anyone have better/more info on these or any experience with them?
Any thoughts on it's value. All original and it's in great shape.
