The tires on my boat trailer say their F78-14ST,, according to the little bit of research i've done it appears that 205/75D14 is the same tire. Anyone know of a good place to buy new tires at a good price? Thanks..

where ever you get them, they need to be ST rated. trailer tires are built totally different than car & truck tires.

The only problem with buying tires on-line is that you pay shipping and you still need to have them mounted and balanced. Buy locally at WalMart, andy farm store, or any tire store. They may dispose of your old tires and if you have a problem you know where to go. You will save very little money doing this on-line, unless you buy tires mounted on rims. Then shipping is even higher so cost savings may be a push at best.

Re: Any good deals on trailer tires??

I would try some local tire shops in the area. When I bought my Bayliner, both tires were bad on the trailer (There was a 14" tire as well as a 15" tire mounted on the trailer). I went to the local tire shop (I think it was a Cooper Tire) and they gave me two 15" Carlisle trailer tires and a new 15" rim for only $55. The tires were used, but they still had a lot of tread on them. It can be hard to find the right tires if you plan to shop locally though. Hope this helps.

I don't have the courage to buy new Carlisles, much less used!

Bying used tires is "Penny wise...pound foolish". Just because it has good tread left does not mean it hasn't just hit a huge pot hole or hit its sidewall on a curb and is a few miles away from a failure.

Also, trailer tires usually still have tread life left even though their age requires you to change them. I keep my tires between 5-6 years and change them out at that time.

Outsider, Carlisle, are as good as any on the market. you hear more about them, because there are so many more in use, than the other brands. i have never had a failure from a carlisle. more failures are lack of maintainance. air pressure.

Carlisle are also popular where I am and I have not heard of any issues with them.

I had a pair of carlisles on an 03 popup trailer until I sold it this year. They were wonderful tires. I took care of them with keeping pressure at max and keeping them out of sun when not in use and I even rotated the spare in every year. They looked brand new when I sold it.

Do you have a Northern Tool in your area? They have tires and wheels. You can buy them already mounted or just the tires. They are Load Master tires and i have had great service out of them.

Good prices fast shipping."

Ditto on that. Bought my last SUV tires there. Even with shipping, disposal fees, mount and balance (etc.) I saved over $100 on the set compared to the price anyone in our local market area would quote.

Again, make sure they are trailer tires, not car or truck tires.
