The real problem here is not that they were having sex. Everybody I know has/had sex at that age. The problem is that they were having unprotected sex. If you have children over 14 you really should have a honest relationship with them about sex. So, that when they start they can come to you and ask for your help in deciding the best method of birth control. Sex happens, deal with it.

I wasn't gonna post here, but ... not true, Caveman! I was 39 when I married and that night was one of the most wonderful nights of my life. And I am not alone - there are a lot of others that can, and do, control their urges until they are in a monogomous relationship (read MARRIED). The only reason you feel the way you do is because that is what the mainstream media and Hollywood tell you, which is what the Spears family is a product of, Hollywood. I think it best if I stop right here ...

The only thing really news worthy about the pregnancy is that her mom has already sold the rights to photos of the baby for $1 million.

No wonder Mommy wants her to keep the baby. Its a meal ticket.

Sick that's all I can say. Not trying to hijack at all but I know of a situation where a 15 year old girl became pregnant by an 18 year old here local and there isn't going to be any charges put on the 18 year old . Now she is in high school and a mom. Actually I heard she was 14 at the time she got pregnant I don't know for sure. I'll half to double check but I heard that her parents was going to let her quit school at the end of the year so they can get married, how special. The parents let them close the doors to the bedroom and what do ya know. Where are the parents?

I live in La. Im 22yrs old my wife is 20 we have 3 kids 4,2, & 4monts. we both finished school. My wife is in college & I just finished 4yrs. So thers nothing wrong with being a young parent as long as u step up & be a man about it.

I ain't knocking the girl for having sex at 16, I was so I can't be a hypocrite. I can't knock the dude for getting the goods, what guy wouldn't? What I can knock though is the parents ALLOWING this to go on willingly. I got caught by a girls dad in the act, well right after the act. No more private time for us. Had to sit in front of a parent if I was around. It didn't stop it but it sure slowed us down. This became news because the mother sold the story to a paper. What kind of parent is that? My daughters watch the programs that JLS has on TV. She appeared to be wholesome so I allowed it. Now they are seeing that she's pregnant at 16. Thats why this deserves attention, because she put herself in the spotlight.

I'm with Aspeck on this one. I wish I would have waited. It is not responsible to have it before marriage, even if others are doing it.

I won't wait until my kids are comming of age to talk to them about it. I will get way ahead and teach them the morals I believe in before it comes to that. Then it is thier responsibility to follow my teaching or reject it.

There will be NO closed doors at my house. My kids will know I WILL BE WATCHING, CLOSELY. And anyone they bring home will too.

I don't know where they live but it is not statutory rape in NC. At age 16 a girl is legally old enough to choose who she wants to have sex with, it used to be 13 prior to October 1995. Even worst, you cannot even put a restraining order against the other party unless the girl agrees to. In some parts of Canada it is legal for a 15 year old to get married without parent consent.

It has been said, "If I knew then what I know now", but that would of gotten me into allot of trouble of course you can't turn back time. Of course people make mistakes, but I also look at it like this, the 18 year old man is robbing the parents of their daughter, of at least 4 more years that the parents could of enjoyed with their daughter. The person I mentioned was supposedly 14 years old gave birth at 15 years old (not even old enough to drive by herself). First off when I become a parent, if I ever become a parent I would never let that happen in the first place, I'll be sitting on the front porch with a shotgun when he comes to take her out lol, or giving him a good talking to before he takes her out on a date on each date.

I have a relative in this age group, I was told of a certain time that this relative was asked by a young man "if she would do it with him", I am very proud that this relative had sense enough to say no. I would personally of seen to it that if this young man ever made an attempt or any kind of threat especially sense the relative said no, I would of seen to it that somebody would be paying dearly.
