In anticipation of my upcoming retirement, I closed an account with Fidelity and requested funds be sent by check to me. My question: How should I invest or spend the sum of $2.24 (Two dollars and twenty-four cents) that was in the Fidelity account?:confused:

There's a great future in plastics. Think about it. Will you think about it?

Drop it in the first Salvation Army kettle you see. You'll get the return later.

Re: Investment decision

Watch out!

Now your uncle might might want to hit you up for "Capitol Gains" taxes, on your investment.

Better stash a little :)

You should feel very lucky that some account manager or so called "financial adviser " hasnt figured some way to charge you just because you have the account and claim it and more as his fee. Can you say "bloodsuckers"........?

Diversify, Diversify, Diversify! Put some in long range, growth and some in long range value oriented stocks. With the remainder, maybe look into real estate or, if you want to be real aggressive, look into futures, or to keep busy, get into "Day Trading." There, that should be enough ideas to spread out that $2.24 into manageable lots! :D

Re: Investment decision

well if you splurge and spend the first .24 cents on yourself you can then invest an even $2 in stocks. Assuming a 10% return annually and deduct for taxes on capital gains you will have a cool $56 in 90 years and can then live the good life.
