'77 Long Shaft Question

Evening,
I have a '77 35HP Johnson. The watre pump went out and melted the spacer on the impeller shaft. I understand there are two lenghts out there. Mine is about 31 inches, is this the long shaft that requires the long spacer? The local boat shop ordered a spacer for me that ended up too short.

Any help is appreciated!

I went there and saw that it had a long spacer ont he parts list. Since the one I have is short, I can reason I need the long one. Just looking for more info so I know I'm headed down the right track.

yes u need the long.
