Check all the connection and clean them all up shiney clean. Then test that you are getting power to the pump with a volt or multi-meter.A trim relay may have went out too.Any clicking noise or anything?

There is a manual release screw in the transom bracket. You access it through a hole on the side of the bracket. open it up about a quarter turn. That should allow you to lift the engine.

If you are trying to bleed air from the system, you need to let that motor rest a bit between up and down cycles. You can burn them out doing it constantly.

Check all the connections. Take them apart and reconnect them.

If it were me, I would disconnect the battery and remove the leads from the engine and clean those too, especially the negative battery terminal on the engine block.

Reconnect everything and try it again. If that doesn't do it, you trim motor is probably cooked.

Carefully turn the screw out a little farther. You have two functions, so to speak, on that system. One tilt, one trim. Once you pass the trim portion of it, it should get easier. Use the trailering bracket to hold it up while you GENTLY retighten the screw.

Did someone move your release handle, by any chance?

Look for a lever on the Starboard side (right side from behind) of the engine. Move it to the opposite position and try to lift again.

Did you clean/service all the wires yet?

Start at the beginning, what exactly were you doing to bleed the air? The system is self bleeding, and will bleed through cycling the motor. What steps were you taking when it gave out, simply cycling the motor? Did you check the fuses first? What is your model number?

Is the motor trying to run, can you hear it? What colours are the wires coming off the trim motor?

Dude,
slow down and listen to these guys. they know what their talking about. if the motor is in good shape check the wires make sure you got power to it. mine was rusted through. had to pull the engine. with this sites help it was no problem. slow down and digest what they are telling you. maybe it takes you an extra day but it;s worth it.

Re: tilt and trim problems

If you cannot hear your trim motor running, it is likely not the lock. Start with ensuring your battery is fully charged, 12.65 volts, and clean and tighten all connections as stated above. Do you have a multi meter? You may need to check for power at the motor then back track. I believe you have 1 relay for your setup, you will need to check that. Is the trim motor the only electronic not currently working?
