I found a guy who is willing to sell his Kawasaki 440 for $450. It runs strong, and it has recently been tuned up. It comes with a nice single jetski trailer. I am thinking about taking him up on the offer. How do 440s perform?? Is this really a good deal??

Re: A Standup 440 for $450

The jetski is a 1991 sx 440. I have seen a picture of it, and it looks close to brand new. I talked to the guy and apparently there is NOT a trailer. Apparently, he just used the bed of his truck as a transport for the ski. The ski is also registered in New Mexico, and he claimes it is a titleless state (there is no title because of that, but the registration is in his name). I have seen a lot of trailerless jetskis for around the same price. One guy offered me a 1985 550 standup for the same price of the 440.(the kind that has that black pipe looking thing coming out of the front side) I have also seen a 1994 Yamaha Waverunner for $400. It has current registration and a clear title (no trailer though). I am thinking about going with this one since it is a sit down rider ( I would strongly prefer a sitdown). Are these Yamaha Waverunners nice?? I think any 90s sitdown will be all right, but I am really looking for an older Seadoo (this would be my first sitdown, so I don't want to get anything to fancy). I have seen some SP and XP models that look like they would be a good starter ski. Is there a good website to find anything like this for sale?? I have checked the local Craigslist, but the best ones I will come across are either titleless or engineless (usually both).

you can find a sea doo sp for around 800 with a trailer and a lot newer than that no title or trailer makes the deal a poor one and if you want a sit down keep looking for one// I have a 1996 sp with a trailer and a XP hood the one with the mirrior on it for 850 including a trailer.

I talked to the guy about it today and I saw pictures. The ski looks brand new and he has a mechanics receipt proving that it is lake ready. He also explained that he had a bunch of upgrades on the engine. The lowest he would go on it was $400.

Ok, I live in NM and am curious as to if you bought it. If not I may be interested. May even go and check it out for the price of a 30 pack.....plus fuel if it is far.

Re: A Standup 440 for $450

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. I ended up not buying it after all. The no title situation made it a poor deal (I know the lake patrol here in Texas would have definately chewed me up for this!!). I definately need to find one of those Seadoos Jeff was talking about. I live in central Texas and no one seems to have a deal worth taking. You wouldn't believe some of the Jetskis I have run across around here. Most of them are titleless, trailerless, and engineless and they still want $800 for the gutted hull:eek:!! They are usually 1993 XPs (I don't know why:confused:). the prices will definately go up since it is this time of year!! The only deals around here are usually for Yamahas. I found a 1991 Yammy Waverunner 2 seater for $500 (nothing was wrong with it!!), but some guy beat me to it:(

To BigD1031 - I will ask the guy if he still has it. I can also E-mail you the pics that he gave me. Also, he claimed that NM is a titleless boat state. Is this true??
