I have a evinrude 73 65hp engine. When I first start the engine and take off full throttle it run great. After a couple minutes it starts losing power. I have replaced the following: coils, power pack, stator (used), rectifier, and rebuilt the fuel pump. The motor idles great but does not want to go full speed. Any help would be appreciated.....

The first thing that I do when similar problems arise is to get a different fuel tank and fuel line and primer bulb to eliminate the very likely possibility of a problem with the fuel supply. Also on that note, have you tried pumping the primer bulb when it slows down, to see if it will keep running?

The second would be to make sure that the engine is not overheating - use your hand.

I know you rebuilt the carburetor, but are you sure that you put on the clip between the valve and the float arm?

I have not checked the carbs or the compression. Everything else I have done. What is the link N sink?

Link and [sic] sink is short for linkage and synchronization as described in your service manual.

Ezeke, that's an incredible close up photo!

Also, the timing of the low power sounds like possible overheating?

That photo was hanging around quite awhile. I can't take credit for it, but I did edit it a little.
