Gasket questions from another car guy just getting into boat mechanics. I have a 5.0 sbc and a Yamaha I/O. I'd like to pull the exhaust mainfolds and risers to check their condition. So...1) are the mainfold gaskets "special" or are they automobile quality? 2) I understand that Yamaha riser gaskets are not available and that the solution is to cut your own using the old ones as patterns. OK -- what kind of gasket material should be used AND what kind of sealer should be used on one or both sides of the gasket -- if any. Thanks for the help.
