Hi everyone!
Been spending too much time thinking ...now I got my eyes on another project!
Can anyone give me an idea how well a 900# 16' bass boat would go with a 2stroke 50hp? I think its rated for 115 but no confirmation yet. I'm wondering if I'd get on plane....

Ouch ! My wallet just bit me on that one!! Don't want to think of the cost of ONE 250!!!! I like the boat - good color for me and $300 . Gotta take a road trip to get it but I could use a Mini Vacation . OH YEA , I keep for getting all those reasons I dont need a second boat.....

Re: stirrcrraazzzyyyy

You need at least two. I am looking for a third, the wife is slowly getting used to my boat obsession. As for how you 16 footer would do with a 50, my guess is about 25 mph. I have a 14 and it does about 25, with a 40 hp, so yours would be about the same or a slight bit slower because it is a little heavier.

Oops tell us about your new toy. Start a new post with some pix. Remember, happy wife = happy life. You may need to get the bowrider going for the summer and put your other project on hold.

Have a great day,

Rob.

I had a waterlogged 16' closed bow that was rated for 125HP. It had a 16" transom and a merc 50(45HP). It would go a hair over 30 with one and a half persons, or about 25 - 26 with two adults and two kids. Just make sure you prop it right.

OOps! - You should have stopped in for a Kokanee on your way home - I'm two hours south of SpoCompton.
