hey all...
good to be back.......man looking at the forums...i missed so much...polls,spammers, and nubs postin in approprate stuff just to get them selves smited.

its good to be back at home.
we drove, as you know, from kelowna bc canada. above spokane and seattle,
down to vegas and back....a little bit of a haul...to say the least.
the truck had minor problems caused by a last minit adjustment i had done.
that was the first night on the way down..broke down a hundred miles outta spokane wash....got it fixed and we were gone.

got to vegas late friday nite.
saw the bote on saturday....cut the deal. the asking price was 2500, but i found some minor probs, the owner dropped to 2300 and done.
we drove around all saturday tring to get the boat trailer registered for the trip but everything was closed by the time we got there, so we had to wait till monday morning......M L K holiday........we didnt know.....

called the vegas cops and asked them what to do about it, and they said "go for it"........so we did.

got home wednesday morning at 6am after driving for 17 hours straight from 200 miles south of salt lake city.....

took some picks for you....including some scantily clad dancing girls we saw in the belagio.....i cant beleive how little they wear!

im using a new trick to download the pics so u see them the first time just as i do....

heres the truck and bote

picgroup5158.jpg

we got to spend all day sunday doin the tourist thing....this is the water fountains at the belagio....pretty cool....

picgroup5163.jpg

we allways stop at the hardrock cafe evere we go... i saw this poster and couldnt resist

picgroup5128.jpg

thats grace slicks autograph on the bottom.....

this is a pick of what we ran into after we left vegas...
picgroup5177.jpg

yup it was ugly.....

i saw this sign out side of baker and la grand....

picgroup5199.jpg

the site will only let me post six picks at a time so ill post the enticing dancing girls next......

all i all we had a good time.....got lots more picks if you want....
as far as the bote goes..... it looks good and ran well......im gonna fix it up and sell it for cash in the early spring to offset the cost of my searay project.....
thats just the kind of bote that goes for money around here...so i hope the plan works well..........

ok next post is the dancing girls.....
cheers.....

Ok, not being critical or anything, I am just scratching my head to why you had to go to vegas to buy the boat. Thats a long way to go. There must be boats of the same level somewhere closer to home.

I am just curious.

Re: back from vegas with bote and pics

dont know how to multi quote...so here goes...

td and bass man.....that pick was taken out the window of a hotel we stayed in monday night....250 miles south of salt lake city...5 hrs outta vegas.

an arctic front had just moved in and put the midwest in chaos....in a ten mile stretch that night..we saw a a whole lotta cars in the ditch.

rodger... your absolutly correct.....however up here in canada ...spring time... that boat's gonna go for $75-8300 after i get done with it....good on gas...enough power to pill a tube/skier a great family/first boat for someone.
with the tax breaks that td mentioned...it could do real good.

im going to use the boat to offset the cost of my sea ray resto proj.

and spinner....yup....never took the time to read the directions on the cam...
thats the cam i bought to take all those restoration pics we been messin with on the test thread....:D

and btw...id been thinkin of that dancing girl/thumb pick all the way from spokane...took 10 of em...that was the only one that even half way worked with that camera

cheers

Re: back from vegas with bote and pics

im looking into it as we speak......rail is the only way....

if i took my personal semi truck....and was able to bring back 5 or 6 it would be ok....but logistics of storing till i had enough....

if the us gets worse monitarily.....and forclosures start to happen.....the 24-28 foot cruisers are gonna be the first to start going really cheep!
