Hello everyone, this is my first time posting. This is a great resource, as there must be several thousand years worth of experience here!! My question is related to a 1984 Johnson 75 (model J75TLCRD) that I purchased disassembled with a boat. I have rebuilt the engine, but cannot determine which ignition coil/plug wire goes to to what cylinder. The wiring was not disconnected, but the coils were taken off and not marked. I have 2 service manuals, and they don't address my problem.
Are the coils stamped some where, or is there a color code, can I tell from the ignition module?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, and keep this great site going.

Thanks ezeke, and brian. I just looked at my wiring based on your reply and my coil wire colors match up. I can now bolt them on in the right order.

I really appreciate the help, I will finish assembling this weekend, even though it is -25 degrees, and there will be ice for 3 more months!!! Working on this engine now gives me a light at the end of the winter tunnel!!!

Thanks again guys.
