Record Striper Caught

A guy just caught a state record striper in virginia two days ago. It was 4.5 lbs from the world record. It weighed 73lbs and the gerth was 31'' length was 52" WOW!!! He was trolling with a lure at 5 knots 5olb test line with a pen 30. Yeehaa!!!

I bet that was one heck of a fight. It's always fun when the fish is heavier than the line test strength.

Congrats on the catch Stars , wished I was on the water myself. You should of seen me try to reel a striper in with a rod and reel that was setup for crappie fishing, not only that the reel's drag was stripped out. I fought with that darn fish for the longest, only to get him to the top of the water then he got away. My brother's eyes about popped out of his head , he kept saying you got to get that in the boat you got to get that in the boat!!!!! But he didn't have a net , honestly I don't know if the net would of done any good.

Some guys have all the luck.
2 years ago I caught a 52 inch striper on Billings Gate shoals ,but it was a male and it did not tip the scales at fifty pounds.
It is wild to see how much more a cow will weigh in at specially now that they are starting to fill up with eggs.
