1990 txrd . parts says 6R5 but it had 6L101 pistons with 6E5 rods just wondering if the motoror had been gotting into thanks

sometime in the mid nineties the wristpin diameter on V4 yamahas changed. this also changed the connecting rod and wristpin.
the reciprocating weights remained basically the same. so its possible to mix and match if the correct parts are used.
its also posible the original powerhead had been replaced at some point.

Very well could be original. A lot of those early 90's models had different parts than the manual called for. Basically they all still interchange. If the pistons are all stock bore, it is unlikely to have been rebuilt before.
I stiil see a lot of those motors which have never been apart in our area.
Old as I am, they may outlast me.
