High Thrust Gearcase

In 1964 Johnson was advertising an optional high thrust gearcase for the 75 hp V-4 for heavy applications such as house boats. Are these just plain bigger than the normal gearcase or the same gearcase with a high thrust prop?

Actually, it was the resurrected regular gearcase and prop from the 1958-59 fifty horsepower motors.

So it's a split case instead of the one-piece case that mine has. It doesn't look that much bigger.

probably gear differently, since hp was at the powerhead, back then.

Nope, same gears as the '58-59 fat fifty.
