Old Boat, New Motor

Hi, I just bought an 1984 Bass Boat with no motor. It has a center console with gauges. I know it had an 50HP Evinrude but it was stripped and sold.

I have a couple motors around and being a little GREEN in the motor scene I need some help:

Can I wire another motor to use the gauges already in the boat, or will I have to buy new gauges based on the new motor?

Since I have just motors, what additional equipment (fuel lines, steering cables, etc) will I need?

Also, if you guys now any sites that could steer me in the right direction about learning more about boat engines I would greatly appreciate it. Especially when it comes to installing and rewiring.

Get the engine first. From there, we'll help.
