test wheel ID ----anyone have a chart?

Hi All
Does anyone have a GOOD test wheel chart hanging around? I have just picked up about 60 test wheels but have no chart and am a bit lost.
I would be in great debt for a couple of photos of it!

Have been wanting to ask just what a test wheel is. Have heard referances to them but have no idea. Sure it is something simple. thanks FRED

Test wheels replace a propeller on a outboard and allow you to load test them in a tank without throwing all the water out. They also make the test wheels so they put a measured amount of load on an engine at a given RPM.
Old way of doing things before marine dyno's......and much cheaper

Test wheels are special propellers used to run outboards in test tanks as already stated. Since the typical test tank provides very poor flow of water to the propeller, a engine run at high rpm?s in a test tank will often surge faster and slower as the propeller alternately ?bites? the water and then loses it?s bite. This surging can make testing and adjusting an outboard difficult. Test wheels are designed to properly load the engine in test tank conditions but to produce no forward thrust, eliminating the surging. A test wheel can not be used to propel a boat, and is an object that you will probably never run across. You should be aware, however, that running your outboard in gear with it?s standard propeller in a 55 gal drum of water, for example, will cause this same surging and it is not necessarily indicative of a problem with the engine.

I'm new to the whole test prop thing. But I would like to point out they do cause surge. I took a video of a 25 HP with a test prop installed. The motor is being held at wide open for about the first half of the movie.......and you can hear the surge clearing bogging the motor down.
I guess it makes for less surge at idle........

Also, I still have no idea how I am even going to begin to ID all of these props...........

Well, I might get condemed for this, but in the Clymer manual I have is a test wheel recomendation chart. The Evinrude chart I am looking at has Engine hp, year, Test Wheel number, and engine rpm. I don't have a good way to copy it into the computer but will think about it if you wish. I know it is not from an OE manual but everything I have checked against the OE manual has matched. I use this book when working, OE in the house for reading before undertaking anything.

Hey I don't have a chart but I am interested in buying a test wheel if you would sell it. If you will I need Test wheel #384933 for a Johnson115. If you don't wont to sell one, I understand. THANKS ANYWAY.
