wiring for sender

I got A 1991 four winns freedom 1950. It has A stock fuel tank. The sending unit has 2 posts and three wires. Any Ideas what goes where

A photo might help. What is the 3rd wire attached two.
Usually one wire is ground, one wire is the signal wire that tells the guage how full the tank is...

There could be a power wire on there also, but it would be backwards from most configs I've seen.. most are 12v to the gauge, then signal wire back to the sender.

i will take A photo but I have A center post and one to the right. When It was taken off there were two wires on one post. Tghe person that removed it dosen't remember what went were.

It sounds like he was using two wires for ground.

The center pole is the signal. IT should come from the gauge.
The side post, especially if it had two wires on it is most likely ground.
