I agree that it does sound like the service writer is doing his job. I am curious as to what additional remarks he added. Are you getting a positive feel about this? It is occasionally a good guide. I do better when I actually listen to it. :) My gut feeling is usually right and my head is usually wrong, but that is a whole other list of stories. Good luck I hope it works out for you.

You might also mention you belong to a well read online boating forum that has over 110,000 members. And that you have fatefully been posting comments to the board regarding how this problem is being handled. And that those posts have been read 2,693 times since you started the thread. You might get some attention.

Baineyg,

You have incredable paticants(sp), I would be calling them daily to get some feed back. I want to call them and it's not even my boat.

No word yet???

Re: Stringer Pushing through bottom of Boat?

I hope that tahoe steps up and replaces the hull on this boat. That is if it hasn't been dropped or damaged in some similar way.

From the photos I have seem I would almost say that the boat had been dropped at some time. If this was just due to poor construction then that is scary.

I have a friend that has bought many new boats over the years. He is very particular about his boats and has had to battle a few dealers and Manufacturers over the years over some fiberglass and other issues.
He also went around and around with a Wellcraft that was powered with a Mercruiser that ingested water. Mercruiser blamed Wellcraft and vise versa. It took months to get the problems taken care of.
The same boat had severe gelcoat cracks all down both sides of it. Wellcraft never did fix it,they said it was cosmetic only not structual. This boat was named Crackin Up. It seemed fitting. It also wore some 12 inch letters that said Wellcraft Boats Suck for a time. That got alot of conversations started. The boat was later sold and was seen later with full side graphics decals on it to cover up the "Cosmetic" cracks. Very sad that they wouldn't fix it,it was a couple months old when the cracks appeared.
The same person had a 2002 Glastron that had cracks all over it. The boat had cracks on it before it even hit the water. It was on a well fitted eagle trailer too. Scott went around and around on that one too. It finally took a visit to Glastron headquarters and it got taken care of. They replaced the hull and rigged it with the original power package. At least they took care of it.
I find it very sad that you have to fight so hard to get a boat company to make things right. It is like they are in a totally different world. The autro industry seems to stand behind their product better.
I would not recommend going the Tahoe boats such letters route but would not back down either.

Good Luck and hang in there I hope you get taken care of.

I would like to know how this was resolved, haven't heard from him in a while. It could be it was dropped, but then why wouldn't he say it was. It is easy for a trained eye to determine this. Hopefully he will get back to us.

Have a great day,

Rob.

Rob who is "he"? To say it was dropped. the manufacturer, Dealer or bainyeg?
Rob How would He "bainyeG" know if it was dropped? Tahoe may determine it was dropped, but they probably wouldn't know who dropped it, if indeed it was dropped. It Could have been dropped in the Factory by an employee who certainly wouldn't tell anyone if he could get away from disclosing it. It could have been by a transporter who also wouldn't admit dropping it. I sure hope he has good Insurance because they may be the one that will have to take up the fight or bite the cost. We all are waiting to hear the conclusion to this situation and hope and pray that it works out right for "bainyeg".

Re: Stringer Pushing through bottom of Boat?

Hello Fellow Boaters,
Thanks for keeping interested in this. All my freinds say to get a laywer, but I'm still waiting on tracker marine. I called Bass Pro yesterday and told them I have to report the loss the my insurance within a time frame. They said they would call Tracker Marine Today and find out what they're going to do. Short answer. I'm still waiting (3 weeks now). I also sent them the "warranty" work order they did last year. I never paid much attention to the cracks they repaired but after this I noticed it stated all the early signs of stringer failure. (3 weeks ago i didn't know what a stringer was). The weather is in the 70's here in Vegas and the Stripers are biting. Guess next time I'll know not to buy Tahoe (and tell everyone else not to buy one).

There are many possibilities here. One is that it may have been dropped by bainyg, and he is trying to blame the damage on the manufacturer. A trained eye could easily determine this, there would be impact damage. I do not think this is the case, but it is a possibility. The damage in my opinion is due to faulty manufacturing and/or design.

Have a great day,

Rob.

... sure hope Tracker steps up and does the right thing. Your post has put the brakes on a possible deal I was considering on a closeout model Q4 L so user input does make a difference. Searches on Tahoes for problems and complaints have not yielded much but two or three complaints. None what you are experiencing. I'm further saddened to hear your Tahoe was worked on last year for something that should take years to occur if ever and they did not follow that up more closely then.

again, good luck!

Re: Stringer Pushing through bottom of Boat?

I didn't drop the boat. I wouldn't know how to load it again without renting a forklift. Here is the work order from last year saying what they fixed. It opens a whole new can of worms with me. I took it in for the annual service (first one) and the motor froze. They said i had to drain the motor. I said it was in for service. Ended up paying half the repair cost. This boat has been a nightmare! I had a nice "Team Marlin" boat for 3 years and only had to change the oil. Boy do I miss the trouble free days! Guess that's part of living and learning.

Check out work order #1. I think it shows the early signs of my problem.
