Re: Sellers beware!

Paypal accounts frozen.

For the members who said there paypal accounts were frozen because of fraud. This is basis for counter suit from the individual that claimed fraud as paypal is used for business transactions, since the individual that claimed fraud charges is actually the one committing fraud you are eligible for damages due to your paypal account being frozen.

I am not a lawyer, nor legal expertise, I just had experience like this and was able to collect on false fraud charges against me.

Re: Sellers beware!

Holy cow!

I guess I'm just too trusting. I mean I've heard and read of this kind of thing, but never experienced it. I've bought and sold stuff locally, paid with personal checks. Never had a problem, but guess I should be more careful. What a sad situation we've come to.:(

Re: Sellers beware!

The seller did contact me and said he would make it right. He had a bunch of false charges on his card and mine got tossed in the mix.
So for now i'll give the guy the benefit of the doubt and give him time to straighten things out.
From now on Paypal will be for buying only.I may still sell through Ebay once in awhile...

Man that sucks, I, as the other agree, that does SUCK... Some of you all suggest using cashiers checks.. I HATE THOSE TOO.. I got one cashiers check, deposited it into the bank 7 days later the funds were GONE.. It was a FAKE cashiers check.. Just to let you all know beware of those as well.. So far *knock on wood* I havent had a "major" problem with paypal.. I mostly just use it to pay for stuff. I do use my cc through paypal incase I dont recieve my items.. Im like Gary though I haven't ever taken a dime that wasn't mine.. I work TOO hard for my money.. That guy will lose that $68 10 fold in the end.. If he doesn't lose it in this life.. THE LORD KNOWS EVERYTHING, and that guy will have to pay for his sin against you.

God bless, and I hope everything works out for you..

Howdy Neighbor! Caryville's just up the road a ways from me. :)

I agree he'll get his in the end if he did it on purpose, but I'm all for giving him some of that now, too. :D

I want to believe it was an honest mistake, but Gary did say he hadn't responded to numberous attempts at contacting him after this... that doesn't sound very innocent to me. I think he probably just got scared when he realized that he had committed a federal offense punishable by hard time, and maybe thought it wasn't really worth it after all. In fact he's probably read this thread twice over and seen our advise to contact law enforcement personnel. I would still contact them, then if he makes good on it, you can back off of pressing charges later.

Re: Sellers beware!

What's sad is one bad apple giving a bad taste to an entire basket of perfectly good ones.

We're not all like that. Some are like me, they don't buy anything because we have no money to do so. Life is simpler that way! :D

Re: Sellers beware!

Well I am posting just to make sure it doesn't look like it was me, but then again, I could be posting to make it look like it wasn't me when it was. Ahh, crap it's not me and I am realy posting because I am curious too. Come to think of it, maybe this thread will get so big that the only one who doesn't post is the guy. Personally I think it was an Aussie. You just can't trust 'em . . . No, wait, I just posted yesterday that you could. Hmmmmm, maybe a flippin' Brit. Nah, we're fresh outta 'dose too . . . Hmmmmmm, those Tennessee guys are kinda shifty . . . Same with those North Carolinians, they're almost as bad as South Carolinians. BTW, this is social controversy at it's worst. Electronic Thieving forum members who say that they are really OK. I hate that.
