I have a 99 Malibu wakeboard boat that I use a ton. The carpet doesn't look to bad but it wrinkles and moves when it gets wet. I probably wakeboard every weekend April through March, and wear and tear of wet people getting in and out doesn?t allow the carpet much time to dry. This for me sucks and I just want to rip out the carpet. Underneath the carpet is unfinished fiberglass and I was thinking about putting a bed liner type of paint/finish so water would just drain down to the bilge and the surface would have a non slip texture. i would want a white, tan, or gray color. Does anyone have any experience with this sort or thing good or bad. I am afraid that some of the bed liners texture might be to rough on wet feet. Thanks

Welcome to iboats!:)
I have heard people using bedliner spray. Rhino bedliner does not seem to be very coarse. You can call around your area to check for pricing. If you do a search you might be able to find the thread.
I am sure someone here will be able to provide you with more info.:)

Coming out of the world of PWCs, I've had great experience with Hydro-Turf. It's PWC floor coverings for the footwells. If you go to Hydroturf.com, they sell the stuff by the sheet in a bunch of different colors. I've had mine over 10 years on my SeaDoo with no wear or fading. And it feels great on your feet and absorbs no water. Check them out.

Look in Cabelas 2008 boating and marine , page 104 upper left.

Marine vinal flooring. Thats what Iam doing . Water runs right to the builge and wont soak up and hold water. It is a non skid vinal.

is that a snap-in carpet? there are other types with heavier backing that supposedly don't even need snaps, under 50 mph. would have to cover for trailering.

thats a really nice boat not to have a decent floor covering on it.....

i think if you go with a painted surface with sand in the paint or simmelar...it would cheapen the boat.....

you say the carpet moves under your feet? thats because the glue has not been laid properly.....

check out the materials tashasdaddy and vintage blue suggested...

(tashasdaddy has done many many restorations.....used many products....he is imho the sites top expert)

the other thing you can do is get a good marine grade carpet and lay it your self...and make sure it is glued right.

cheers
oops

and btw....welcome to i boats !
