I bought my first HDTV last weekend. I bought a 32" LG LCD to replace the 19" CRT Tv/VCR combo.

I hooked up my OTA antenna and I just have to say I am stunned. I saw them in the store and have seen my FIL's HD set. But man, this is unreal. I think I could watch just about anything if it had an Hd signal. I even makes my analog signals look good. I was watching CSI:Miami and I think my wife wanted to shut it off because the girls in the bikinis were so realistic :)

I swear, my wife could be watching static and be happy. She just doesn't understand.

I'm still in the dark ages as of yet. Have not sprung for HD.

yeah, we dump a bundle into a hd set, surround sound, matching Lazy boy recliners, because "she" wanted them. i will be 60 this year, deaf in one ear, wear glasses. can't hear the surround sound, picture colors are better, but that's about it for me. now "she" goes into her office, and watches the 13 inch. i love the recliner, this is my 4th one, she hates hers.

Mine either . . . when I met her she had her "stereo" speakers stacked sideways on top of each other as a stand for the tuner and turntable  (would be OK for tashasdaddy  :p ) We keep having this discussion about why the HD channel for ABC won't work on the non-HD set . . . It's endless.

HD is pretty awesome especially since you can get local HD with an antenna and for free.
As a guy in the business I figured I needed to have this is my own house as well as my boat.

I just bought a 27" HD set w/ built in DVD player for my 27 foot cruser. I am planning to add an antenna on the radar arch and then enjoy HD out on the water whenever I spend a night on the boat, but then I plan to be this little hottie I met around christmas so may not have time for TV LOL......

I went to the boat show a few weeks ago and all the new crusers have TV's so i felt obligated to outfit mine with new technology since the boat its self still has good lines and looks as good as the new models.

Well, I am several years older than Daddy. Don't have surround sound. Can wear hearing aids if I really care, which I don't very often. Glasses work fine to read the captions.

I, too, dearly love my recliner. My first. :)

What I really like most about HD is sports. I can read the defensive end's name on his back. I can follow the ball that Tiger just hit a ton, and they offer such glorious views of the course.

I don't think I would like smellovision, but I expect HD in 3D when the market is near saturation. I would like that if they can figure out how to view it without special glasses.

That's all the years of construction catching up.

I have dish network and my personal pet peeve is the varied volumes between stations and even between commercials. I turn up the volume for a show and have the commercial blow me out of the room.

I want to get one of those HD billboards they have out now for next year's superbowl party. I'd have to make some expansions to the house to fit it in, but can you imagine? It's a 1000 inch HD tv. :D

Re: I have stepped out of the dark ages..

What I hate is the stupid tv logos in the corner of your tv that burn themselves into the plasma screens. I have a 50 inch flat screen HDTV and between that and these stations not figuring out which stupid size to run their shows (ie black lines on top and bottom of the screen that also burns into the picture) not only does it change per channel but per commercial.

I also agree on the sound differences. one channel is a whisper the other blows out your speakers. Do these boradcasters have their heads up their ___!!????

I do love the tv though and the graphics are nice. I have not had the opportunity to see it in HD yet as I have the worse the cable company known to man. I plan on switching to Dish network son so I can enjoy the picture. Apparently though I will still have the sound issues. :(
