What a clever cover up! I guess they will not admit that the reactor core cracked open and everyone in Florida will be glowing soon!!

Actually that is good news that it is not a severe equipment problem.

Hmmmm, me thinks that if one person can shut down a nuke plant makes me wonder how secure the system really is. Glad it wasn't me that did it :D

Re: what pulling the wrong switch did.

he was miles away for the plant. he pull 2 wrong switches, that caused the system to automatically shut down. he is on suspension, probably doomed to the unemployment line.

What! No one got the memo that this aggressive, smart, enterprising employee was going to test the system! A very good test was accomplished! This is a lack of training issue and people above him need to pay too.

Reminds me of the commercial on tv where the guy is flipping a light switch wondering what it does and he is actually smashing his neighbors car.

Reminds me of the time many years ago that I was working for a carpet cleaning company in an uptown bank building on the week end. I needed a place to plug in a wet dry vac in a hall way. The first open closet I saw had an outlet in it but it was being used by "some sorta electrical machine" I figured since the building was closed it was ok to uplug it for a few minutes. I did so and about 20 minutes later some guy in a suit with a briefcase came running in like his arse was on fire, Its seems that somehow ALL OF THE BANK SYSTEMS IN ATLANTA 500 miles away were shut down...Did I do dat? lol

I work in the electric industry and while I am not defending the guy, you would be surprised how easy it is to shut a plant down. Could have been anything from incorrectly tripping relays, taking them out of service, improper switching, and the list goes on and on.

People really don't understand just how dynamic the electric grids are and what happens on a daily basis.........

Re: what pulling the wrong switch did.

My mother-in-law while working for AT&T inadvertantly shutdown the 911 system for several hours to some section of the country (cant remember where). After the FBI and Homeland security were convinced it was not an act of terrorism she only got a letter in her "permanent record". Fortunately the fact that it appeared no one, at least that they know about, was hurt probably helped.

Hey Musky, I can imagine your Dad then, he was probably practicing: "When I say light's out", "I Mean, Light's Out!!!" :D
