Need help with Identification

Hi, I just purchased a 150 XR4 and need help trying to find out the year it was born. The serial # is A138898. This is the one stamped on the mid section clamp. Also the motor is not getting any fire on either side. Where do I start?

1987, start by dicconnecting the black/yellow wires at the switch boxes

1987 ? I thought the XR4 didn't come out until 1988 . Could it just be a XR2 mid and clamp?

It probably has had the steering bracket changed if it's a XR-4

I don't know if it makes a difference but I had a typo on the serial #. The serial # is A138838.

No thats still a 1987 serial number
