What year / model there where many Archimedes outboard models produced over the years - in the end (from 1969) Archimedes where purchased by Volvo Penta. Volvo Penta Outboards where then produced until 1979 where Volvo closed their Outboard production

I have a book with all the Cresent (and other) Swedish outboards - and live not far away from where they where produced

unless you want to keep it for "old times sake" then start looking for another Motor, I was (unfortunately) employed by a Dealer that had Volvo Outboards as well as OMC (about 1980ish) and even when there were new, they were a Headache, but the Engineering seemed sort of OK, but they had a few "features" that lead to an early demise of production, the twist grip throttle/gear system (that Merc has and works like a charm) would rust up and be seized solid in about 6 months, I think (but do not know for sure) that they may have been made for Fresh Water use, rust/corrosion was a major problem for us!!
