Hi guys... Yet another problem with my motor..
Well heres whats happening...
I had to replace the stator and a coil as they died... Then My lower carb basicaly would fill but wouldnt allow gas out.. I solved that as the gasket was covering an oriface. So finally I got to run it on muffs.
Well heres my new problem...... prior to all this when running on muffs i did notice dark oil coming out of the center hub exhaust. I knew that this is normal. However, now the oil is more milky white not sooty.. I have chcked an i have both cylinders firing.. I do not have as much white smoke coming out of the prop now. But its stil there I am using penziol sythetic oil.. just wondering if i have a new problem.. I did notice at idle that some gas comes out the front of the lower card. its done tis since i have had it and i reult the carbs checked reed plates and never been able to cure it... oever whe on the water runinng above idle no gas comes out the carb.
I have checked the lower unit drained and filled with the correct type c and there was no water and the oil level didnt change.
Thaks for your help

That lower carb most likely has either a sticking float or badly out of adjustment. As far as the milky oil, make sure you don't have a pinhole leak in you water jacket gaskets that could let a small amount of water into the cylinder.
Good Luck

hi rocky
When you say check the water jacket gaskets do i have to lift off the powerhead to do that ?? I am awaiting a manual for the motor
it. So i was wondering is it a big job.
I have checked the cylinders and i dont see wet plugs or any evidence of water on them.

hi ..
Further update..
I checked the white stuff again and its gas mixed with the water not oil. I talked with the mechanic at homassassa Marine and took a little sample of my frothy stuff. He confirmed it was gas and water not oil. I now have the usually grey stuff comming out of the exhaust. I had replaced the float in lower carb and rebuilt it and i had forgotton to clean out all the carb cleaner. and I had used wd40 ... It was the residue of all of them and the gas. I hadnt run the motor long enough after cleaning the carbs and decarbing the engine. it and then when the float stuck i had used wd40 which had pooled in the engine and when i finally go the carb to work the engine started and is beginning to clear the wd40 and the carb cleaner.
He said dont worry it wont harm the cylinders as the premix will still protect everything. And the wd40 help lubricate anyway,
