A 2.0 on a 19 ft boat. I don't think your going to be very happy. It's WAY, WAY under powered!

Re: first inboard

its a 3.0

He said 2.0 I figured it was 3.0 as you stated but he still won't be happy with a 3.0 on a 19ft Boat. Can't pull a skier, won't get up on plane with three people in it. Will pull one tuber ok but not two very well. It's only 135 Hp and that's underpowered.

Re: first inboard

Hi,

Volvo 2.0 could be the AQ130 or also known as B20.
If its the AQ130 let us know. I stripped down two of the motors last month.
By the way, the others are right. You won't have fun with this combination.

Regards
Lars

Re: first inboard

i have had a trial in her and 3 up we were doing 48knots in quite large swells and was very happy with the speed maybe he might be wrong about the size of the engine but he dont seem to be an idiot im only paying ?1000 (uk) for this so im sure if im not happy i could sell it during boating season and my apologies its 18ft not 19 but im sure 1ft wont make a difference

The speedometer is WAYYYY off.

Try it again w/ a handheld GPS.

No way is that 19' boat going 55+ MPH with a 2 liter 4 banger, especially w/ 3 people on board.

Exactly my sentiments. My 4.3 V-6 185 Hp will only do 38 MPH with one or with four people WOT 3800 RPM. Mine's a Four Winns 190 Horizon 19 ft

Re: first inboard

Is it an AQ130-A/-C/-D?
You will have not more than about 100HP at the propeller. This motor is very old but looks good at your photo.

"Speed kills", whats worse is missing the "event" your wife planned because you thought you could do 50 and only made 30. Test it with a GPS.

Re: first inboard

Look at the engine, just under #3 spark plug and in front of the distributor. There should be a model and serial number tag there. What model EXACTLY is it. A, B, C or D. The compression ranges are different.
Also with the actual model number you can download an owners manual from Volvo.

I also made a false statement earlier when I said it was 130 hp, the A and C models were 130, the B was 115 and the D was 100.

AQ130A model means you can use lead-free fuel.
Do you have some more detailed photos of the motor?
