my son lost his ignition key to his boat that he is fixing up so i thought that i would take it apart and during the process we had crossed a couple of wires on the switch and now we have no power to the motor...any ideas????
The 90HP controls generally had ignition wiring like that shown. The ignition switch is usually a push-to-choke with either spade or bullet connectors.
The ignition switch has wiring that grounds the powerpack to kill the engine. If voltage travels that wire, it will destroy the powerpacks, then no fire. First thing to check is the 20 amp fuse at the starter solenoid.
Rule 1. Always disconnect the battery before working on the outboard's wiring.
