Seems like someone did a bit of pruning on this old thread, a lot of people that were on the original seem to be missing... Such as myself. Once again.. Marine Corps.1st Mar div, 11th Marine regiment.3rd and 4th battalions. (MOS- 0811) 6/1966-7/1970.

What gun battery were you in treedancer?

Oh, for me, USMC/80-84. E5. MOS-2531
I was in the last active 175mm gun battery in the Marine Corp.
It was the 3rd 175 , 4th Bn, 11th Marines.

USN '67 to '73
San Diego boot camp and EM A school, USS Robert K Huntington DD 781 out of Mayport, Bainbridge Nuclear Power School, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, three West-Pac tours on the USS Truxton DLGN 35.

Had an opportunity to go to EM B school, become Chief and then a two year stint back at Knolls, before back to the fleet. My last captain wanted me to go NESEP and become an officer. When I presented the Bosslady with our options, she said go have fun as she'll be in Kansas City. So I got out.

About 10 years ago she mentioned that had "we" stayed in, that I could be retiring with over 30 years of service. I could have slapped her.

HI all , I was in the army from 80 threw 83,3th37, 13B10 cannon cocker !! BASIC at fort sill , then a year and a half in germany , then fort polk !!! I got out as a E-5 John

Active Duty Navy for 12 years now. 1996 - 2000 USS Bataan in Norfolk Va, 2000 - 2003 Corry Station Pensacola FL, 2003 - 2005 USS Thomas S. Gates Pascagoula MS, 2006 - 2009 Ft Meade MD. Sep 2007 - May 2008 Taji and Baqubah Iraq IA Deployment (Boots on ground, not on ship)
