I have a Glastron 74' Sportster, great little boat for our needs.

The boat has two pieces of real glass for the diver and passenger consoles and one that swings out in the middle that's plastic, the one in the center right now is really worn down and pretty opaque. What can I replace it with? Standard lexan, polycarb??

Also there are two window latches that lock that center window down, they have been broken over time and I need to replace them, any ideas??

Thanks

thats common with walk thru... but a cheap fix......when you get the new one in.....wash it with clean water only....the second you put a oily rag on it it will yellow.

Re: Window Glass Question - 74 Glastron Sportster

New question....

There are two little side windows, they are lexan and crazed like mad. So I figure while I'm replacing the center window I'll fix those as well, it's just a tad more lexan and well I might as well while I'm in there.

But they are riveted in, can I just drill out the rivets that are holding the lexan in?? I'm pretty sure I can find a rivet kit somewhere around here :)

Thanks

yup drill em out......

sprocket...do what you were gonna do and ignore this....it is just an idea

there is an idea ive had....(wont work for the center walkthru)

get real glass....and there is a new film out ...it makes glass impossible to break thru.....its commercial....used to stop break in's....you can hit a commercial pane of glass with a sledghammer and it will remain in tact and in place.

(we only use tempered in boats cause we dont want window glass killing people)

it makes regular glass almost like tempered.....wonder if it would work...(its uv resistant...wont discolor and good for life...(they say)

thoughts guys?
