fountain boats makes some nice pacages if money isnt an obsticale.
however its a lot of money :)
yopu have to remember, HP is only part of the game in the marine world. unless special drives and props are used the your limited to prop shaft speeds of about 2500 RPM. much more and issues arrive.

Dennis Moore's Book on High Performance SBC Marine engines.
Now out of print, copies are going pretty high.
Dennis has forgotten more about high performance GM marine engines that anyone else knows.

I am not a big fan of the Mr T Gold Chains and Really Bad black Toupee on a midget that completes the full blown Beak Boat look.....

No doubt about it, the ultimate small block is the Raylar LSM550. LS based, all aluminum, 543lbs, 550HP.

I was waaay to cheap to pay a few hundred bucks for Dennis Moore's book... I ordered a copy from interlibrary loan :D Good info overall and definitely worth the read...

In terms of shopping for horsepower, there are a few shops around that specialize in hot marine engines. If money isn't an issue why not just go with a 1000+ horsepower marine bigblock... The shop that's building my small block seems to have them going out all the time. the difference in torque and horsepower makes a couple hundred pounds a moot point...

ps. bomar... why you wanna go picking on Reggie... he's an icon....

The replys are cool
543 lbs, 550 hp thats what I wanted to see.....WOW

The big block weight is not an issue

EXCEPT AT REST.

Which I do alot.

I know, I know, if you are at rest alot why do you need to go fast?
Hey its still my dream.

Can anyone provide links for my "shopping" pleasure

Thanks

Put a supercharged big block in it, and when you're at rest just imagine the weight difference is a couple of hot friends in bikinis on the back!!

Re: High HP Dreaming

Well, if money is no factor.... bolt one of these in your boat! A cashiers check will get you one on a pallet in the time it takes to ship it It's not a small block but what's the old saying?.....If you want real power, cu-inches is the way to go etc

Re: High HP Dreaming

Thanks for the replies men.

I "THINK" this is it.

550 hp/543 lbs......$13,000.00.

http://www.raylarengine.com/550_engine.html

May be B3/XR OD

Sure would be fun to have it in the old Mako 23'/cc
No new paint, etc. etc.

Then pull up to some NEW fountain and see what happens!!!!
