Opinions on 4 1/2 HP Merc

Does anyone have any opinions on the 4 1/2 HP Merc? It appears to be in good shape and the stream is strong. I am looking for info on reliability and parts availability. Not sure of the year but I think early eighties. Ice is still on the lakes so I had to test it in a barrel. I plan on using it on an 11' inflatable with an air floor and inflatable keel. Does it have the power to plane with two adults on board?

Don't think it will have the power to plane. They are an older motor maybe even late 70's. It all depends on the deal you get. If you don't pay too much it may be OK, but don't expect to beat any speed records. Personally I would go with bigger power.

Thanks Rob. The asking price is $300.00. I need a two stroke because of the weight of taking the engine on and off from the swim platform of my boat.
The four strokes are just too heavy for my back. I can live without planning as a trade off. My main concern is the reliability of the motor.
