My son-in-law was trying to be nice and picked up a marine/rv starting battery. On the side it states in little letters deep cycle. I went back to where he picked it up and they can not tell me if it really a deep cycle battery. I think it might be a hybrid battery.

How do I charge this battery?

Yes I tried to get them to take it back. No Luck.

Thanks for the help!!!

Re: Charging a battery

Might be able to look it up by brand name & model. Or the size & weight might give us a clue.

General rule of thumb, charge it at a constant 14.1 volts with a starting current no higher than 25% of the amp-hour capacity or 10% of the Reserve Capacity, until the amount of current it will accept stops declining.

Best way to maintain it is with a "smart charger" with "maintain mode" - *not* a "trickle charger".

I tried looking it up but had no luck. It is one of those batteries that the parts house puts their own name on. I e-mailed advance auto parts and have not received an answer.

Re: Charging a battery

Unless it's a true "gel" cell (you'd know by the price), it can be charged with any decent charger. :)
