Well I think I got my shifter slinky-drive problem solved, so, last time I ran my Mark 10 the exhaust plate was letting water out so I took off the plate and figured I'd replace the gaskets in there. Of course, they were all broken and some of the pieces were gone, most likely fell off while it was running all the years ago. And again, naturally, absolutely NO dealers carry them any more - they are 'obsolete' as they all said. Is it me, or should they still manufacture regular tune up parts for all engines  Does anyone know where I can find these things? There are three gaskets and they are for a '57 Merc Mark 10... if part numbers will help any, I will post them soon! Thanks in advance!

I checked on it and the complete gasket set has all the other gaskets except the ones I need.

I suppose I could try calling East Coast Marine. Great store, lot of knowledgeable employees, but they have major issues communicating with customers and act like you're bugging them when you call to make an order or report a wrong order.

I called Mercury directly in Fon du Lac Wisconsin and they just told me to find a local dealer and ended the conversation at that. What service.

Thats odd, for two reasons:

1) A powerhead gasket set typically includes all gaskets required for a complete teardown and rebuild.

2) I've never heard a bad thing about Grubb's Marine, and I'm surprised he sold out to a company that didn't honor his long standing tradition of superior service.

Sorry it didn't work out.

Maybe try twin city outboards?

Good luck.
