I guess the downside is that you need to drill holes in the hull of your boat.

any tab you put on you have to drill holes, you just use 3M 4200 to seal the screws.

I guess the downside is that you need to drill holes in the hull of your boat.

There are lots of holes in boats; do it right and it's no biggee. The only downside to trim tabs is that they cost money, all of the rest is upside
