That really looks like it hit something.....did you drift with the motor off and down and by chance bump something. It may not have thudded like you would think but a spinning prop does not require much to damage it if the skeg missed it...that usually creates the most noticeable thump

You could have stirred up bottom material in shallow water. It really doesn't look like you hit something though, there edge of the blade is relatively straight. What engine, rpms, and prop size are you using? It looks as though you might have a cavitation problem from the little white specks near the tip.

You couldn't have been in 10 feet of water all day unless you keep the boat anchored off shore. Did you buy the prop from someone who may have hid the damage from you with a good coating of paint?

It looks like it could be a prior repair area breaking out. But you most likely bumped it against something.

Yes and yes and yes... First I went out into our channel of about 20 plus then changed my prop I had three I was testing when I pulled the one in the pic off it was after 20 mins of running at about 3300 rpms and after talking to the guy who sold me the prop it is a stress fracture that was repaird. He is giving me my money back ... But he is my q would I be able to go out tommorrow with this prop its just a small bit of one blade couild I make it back home about 40 miles on that prop

a common obstruction in water is submerged logs. As they get water logged, they sink. Slowly. So even if you are in 100 ft of water, there can be a nice big branch just two feet below the surface.

Last season I thought I saw something in the water ahead. Looked like a 4x4 sticking out right at water level so the waves would cover, then uncover the end of it. I was in about 6 feet of water and thought it was an old dock post. When I got close, it turned out to be about a 3 foot piece of 4x4 water logged floating vertical and bobbing about in the water.

You can never be sure the water is free of debris.

To answer your question, that is a big piece breaking off as far as props are concerned. It will be unbalanced, and have different stresses and forces on that blade compared to the other two. What will happen is vibration, and possable damage to the prop shaft, bearing and seal. Not worth using it if you ask me.

Go out with a different prop.

Or perhaps a poor previous repair. It does look like a stress failure rather than a prop strike.
