New fuel pump , Carb rebuilt ,timing dead on , good fuel motor will not run off idle and when it does it will not run after 2500 rpm

any one have a idea

When was the last complete tune up?? Have you checked the fuel filter/water separator?? If it has one.

Might want to recheck that SN, that number is for a 8.1L inboard, not a 3.0L IO.

Along with who/how on the carb rebuild, I would also be asking how the timing was set. A 2001 3.0L uses the Delco EST distributor and MUST be put into base timing mode in order to check timing and setting it to specs. If you just grabbed a timing light and turned the distributor, you are way off.
