I thought you all might like to see the finished product. I started on this little project last month. I will be using it to remove the engine from my old tug as well as some side work I have been doing around here. I have wanted one for years but never wanted to shell out the clams it takes to buy one. I built this one from plans I found online. It is twelve feet wide and is adjustable to twelve feet high. According to the plans it has a 3500 lb. capacity. It should be plenty to do what I want as well reloading the boat on the trailer when the time comes. It came out pretty well.

Very nice. Can you post a link to the plans, as well as a rough cost estimate?

Here is a link to the website where I got the plans.

According to my receipts I have $740 in steel, wheels, primer and paint. I used a small stick welder I own (buzz box) to tack everything together. A friend at work, and our shop's welder, was kind enough to stay after work and finish the welding. The rest was done by yours truly. $740 bucks seems like allot but when you consider gantries of this capacity and adjustability start at around $1800 and go up, I'm doing ok. Thanks for the compliments.

Good Idea! You think twelve feet is too high for a two year old? My seventeen year old has already done chinups on it.

$740 is not bad at all.

Come to think of it, I think that is less than oops' Corona Budget :D

I didn't see the pics last night because I was at work. I didn't know you have a Revel Craft. I owned a 1973 26' - Revel Craft with a Right Handed 302 Ford/Waukesha w/Velvet Drive.

I loved that boat. should have never sold it.

Thanks we bought it five years ago. It is a 1969 Revel Craft Revelier'. (what ever that is?) We used it for two years and then two things happened. One, my daughter we born. Two, I brought the boat home and promptly lost good sense. I hope to have it back in the water, restored, by the time the truck is paid for next year. Allot to do yet. If you click the link below my signature you can see a bit of what I have done. No end in sight. Always glad to meet a fellow RC owner. Not many of us around I have found.
