Opinions on a 1975 AMF Crestliner?

Are they "good" boats? Are there any quirks that they have- particularly the 4 cylinder I/O models?

Which model are you talking about?

What brand 4 cylinder I/O OMC Stringer, Mercrusier, Vovo?

I have a 1980 AMF Crestliner Nordic Aluminum 21 foot Runabout and love it.


Bodega Bay Weather on May 2 08 Improving Launch but watch the weather.
Winds NW 310 degrees true at 25.3 knots with gust to 29.2 knots
Seas 6.2 feet with swells every 16 sec and chop every 4.6 sec Sea Temp 49.1 degrees.

All I know for sure is that it has a cuddy, aluminum hull, and a Chevy motor.

if you have a cuddy ....your over 20 feet......the 4 banger ....while a really solid little work horse......might be a bit under powered for the big boat....you need to find out the weight and post it here...so we can see if it is gonna push that boat.......

alum is different than glass.....if the boat is glass its way underpowered...

if it has a omc drive....run....run fast...run far....run to an alpha or volvo.

I found out yesterday that it DOES have the OMC drive? Why is that bad?

Ayuh,......... OMC is Dead,+ Gone,....Obsolete Marine Company....
And,......
An Old 75 Stringer Drive is about as Bad as it Gets for Parts, or Service.....
