Hi,
Linked & syncd my E50rnlic recently(according to manual) & got a Tiny Tach today to help verifiy that my forward idle rmps were good at 850+ or - 25.
Neutral idle revs showed an increase up to 1100rpm.
Does this increase seem to be excessively high to you???

Re: RPM,s

Under load (on the water) and in gear your RPMs should be a bit lower. Are you testing on the water or in the driveway on muffs?

Re: RPM,s

OOPS... meant to say 800 +or-25 rpms......
Yes Chris, on the water unrestricted, according to manual specs. Got this reading OK, but just thought the jump up to 1100 in neutral might be a wee bit high!!!
Thanks, DAVY

Re: RPM,s

if your on muffs unloaded your rpms will climb quite high you need to set it in water in gear and go for 600 or so maybe 700 then you will be good .
what it does on the muuffs doesnt matter unless your link and sink is incorrect or your throttle is not fully backing off
gopod luck Bennyb

Re: RPM,s

you need to try to get it down to 650 in gear in the water. shifting at 1100 will damage the clutch dog. back your idle speed stop screw out a little to get the rpms, down.

Ok,
Will try to reduce the RPM,s in gear......although the manual states it should be 800.
Thanks for the replies...will report back with results.

Maybe 800 in neutral, but not in gear. 600 to 650 in gear is where you want to be.
