hub????? Questions

how would you change a spun hub? What are the symptom of a spun hub? Does all propeller have the plastic shock absorber hub? my propeller is a quicksilver and a 175 hp motor.

Please need advise and thanks in advance.

I just spun a hub on my 1977 850. It would troll fine but when I tried to plane out the engine would over-rev and wouldn't go anywhere. I took it to a local prop shop and they pressed in a new hub for $55. Took about 3 days. If the rubber inside the hub loses its vulcanization it allows it to spin inside without rotating the prop. The rubber acts as a cusion between the prop and the drive shaft.
