By the time the safety nazis and the EPA get through with it it would cost $10K and get 35mpg.

We can already buy cars here that do better than that.

Laugh all you want at the Indian cars, but with the billion or so people in India with newfound access to an affordable car, the price of oil and gas isn't going to get cheaper any time soon, even if it got 160 mpg.

Laugh all you want at the Indian cars, but with the billion or so people in India with newfound access to an affordable car, the price of oil and gas isn't going to get cheaper any time soon, even if it got 160 mpg.

I remember when folks used to laugh at and made jokes about Japanese cars.

Redux of Henry Ford's vision, provide basic affordable transportation for the masses and make money doing it. The only difference in the mix is fuel economy.

In a country like that, the effect is going to happen almost overnight compared to the time took in this country back then.
