Hello.iv the same problem.iv a 70hp 80's version.need to check model number.starts and runs fine but if you turn it off it wont restart.iv to pull the plugs and cut fuel supply to restart it.this sound like your problem barry?

Has the motor been running long when you go to restart it? What are you doing to restart it. Are you using the choke? Could use a little more info here.
