Compression should go up quite a bit when hot, mine cold was 100ish and 130 hot.
For 350 you really can't go wrong.

I think the compression will be ok once i get spinning with the starter.
I have to replace the brushes in it then i should have it running.
The rope pull really is a pain trying to test anything.Spark looks good..:)

Gary H; My wife used to be a title clerk, here in Fl.
She says: boat trailers are not titled in Fl.
Only the original dealer has the numbers.
If you have a Fl tag registration, that is all the proof that anyone will get.
And 1981? that paperwork is gone forever.
She says call Fl tag agency, and have them send you a letter, that might work.

I was scrolling too fast, thought you had bill of sale on boat, not waterski.

Try it anyhow; I bought a 1949 truck couple of years ago; saw the title before I bought it, had been transferred in 1984. The tag agency couldn't find it on computers. And the more I find, it is a 1950 model.
Use a receipt from Fl- the records are nill; bull them into sending some paperwork.

And it's all about money. Here in Fl, as long as you pay tag money, everybody happy. Homemade? weight it for $7 at land fill and registration easy (no title).
Not homemade? same deal. No titles, only boat is titled.
Got a piece of $200000 heavy equipment? not titled.
Try the
Fl thing

Thanks guys,The kid i bought it from knows the original owner and said he would see what paperwork he can get from the guy.
As long as i can get the boat registered then i'll work on the trailer..:)
It will be awhile before it hits the water..
New transom, paint, seats and someone took the bow and anchor lights off.
it will get a fresh wiring job..

... nice boats Gary & TD, workable sizes. Trailers here locally get tag'd Perm so trailer titles become after thoughts when buying/selling. Wonder now if it needs to be chased. You all have to tag trailers each year?

Yes,North Carolina treats a trailer just like a car.Tags every year and they also make us pay property tax on the trailer..

it is a lot of work. ebay, craigslist everyday. sometimes several times a day. when you find one you have to be ready to jump on it.

Congratulations on getting a nice project at a super steal of a deal. It looks like a really good servicable boat and should go like skink with that 50 on the back.
