I really like the t-top towers on center console boats but i have a dual console deep v fishing boat and would like kind of the same look and function. I have been looking at wakeboard towers to start with as my base for rod holders, lights, gps, and antennas and such for fishing.

Has anyone done this or intersted in this concept. If so please post your pics or share your ideas. I am not looking at making money, just getting ideas for my boat.

your biggest problem I think will be support for the tower, boats that have them on were designed for the added stress and load they put on the boat.
I would worry about damaging the hull.
Just a thought.

i've got a wakeboard tower, added it to a 1987 model that wasn't designed for it. the guy that made the tower installed it, used some backing plates but didn't add any glass or anything like that. i haven't had any cracks or problems and that's with wakeboarding stresses. that should be more than rod holders will put on it, unless you're great white fishin. it really works great for getting crap off the floor and outta the way into racks or lights mounted up away from eye level too. that reminds me i still need to move my navigation light up there, alot easier than pulling the light pole out.

Sounds like a great idea to me, especially with the nav light up there out of my face.

Never seen it done before, but with some modification I am sure you can do it. I helped with the installation of a tower last winter. It is a fairly simple job, but you need about 3 guys to hold everything in place while you make your measurements prior to the final installation. Good luck.
