Suggestion, and Question............

we have a new I/O drive boat. I was told to mix up in a spray bottle, Simple Greem, and water, 50/50, + a cap full of amonia to keep any I/O, or ooutboard engine clean of the "gray discoloration" that gets on them. Our boat only has 12 hours on it, which brings me to the question:

What kind of polish, or wax do you use on the outdrive??

Thanx,

P.S. I hope that this is on the right forum.

The simple green is good to clean and degrease without harming the paint.
Many good waxes out there.Any car wax would be ok on the drive paint.

You don't really need to wax the outdrive, just keep it clean, its made of aluminum,it wont rust, all the bolts are stainless steel, after you trailer it, wash off the drive, using a brush if needed, then lower the drive to allow all the water to drain, good to go.But if you insist.....meguires -collinite - any quality MARINE wax will do.

O.K., thanx !!!!!

I just like the unit/boat to look as good as possible when I take it out. My trucks and cars get hand washed, chamoied (sp), every week. NO automatic car washes for me.

I even clay bared all of our vehicles at the end of summer last year, and polished them.

There is alot of fiberglass on a boat to clay bar, especially on the inside !!!!!!
